How to Join an Event on Cohart

Overview

Joining an event records your RSVP on Cohart so the organizer knows whether you plan to attend. It exists so attendees can signal interest, keep track of events, and invite friends, all from the event listing or the event page. It is for attendees with a Cohart account; organizers and admins instead see management tools such as Manage, Check-In, and Ticket Report. Your choice appears on the event card and the event detail page, where the RSVP button keeps your current status — Going, Maybe, or Not Going — even after a refresh, and invitations you send go out by email from the Invite to Event dialog. RSVP never buys a ticket: ticketed events still need checkout through the Tickets box or Manage My Tickets. By the end of this guide you will have a saved RSVP that you can change at any time, and you will know how to invite others.

Before you start

  • A Cohart account you can sign in to — joining requires sign-in, and signed-out visitors are sent to the login page first. No account yet? See How to Sign Up.
  • Find the event first via the Discover menu under Events, using the search field (placeholder “Search events”) or the Filter categories (All, Exhibition, Art Fair, Gallery Opening, Workshop, Panel Talk, Studio Visit, Museum Show, Other).
  • Note that RSVP is separate from tickets: if the event sells tickets, buy them separately — see How to Buy an Event Ticket on Cohart. Events showing “This event has ended” no longer accept RSVPs.
  • Effects to know: your choice sticks to your account — Going, Maybe, or Not Going stays selected after a refresh — and invitations you send go out by email.

Steps

1. Sign in to Cohart

Sign in with your email address and password, or use Google or Apple.

2. Open the Events tab

In the top navigation, click Events. The Events page shows upcoming events as cards. Each card shows a status badge (for example ONGOING), the event category (for example Exhibition), the event title, its location, and the date range and times. Every card has a Going button and an Invite button so you can RSVP directly from the list.

3. Search or filter events

To find a specific event, type in the search field (placeholder “Search events”). You can also narrow the list with the Filter button and its categories: All, Exhibition, Art Fair, Gallery Opening, Workshop, Panel Talk, Studio Visit, Museum Show, or Other.

4. Open an event

Click an event card to open its page. On the event page you will see the event details plus the Going and Invite buttons in the header. The page also has tabs for Exhibitors, Artworks, Feed, Map & Directory, and Sponsors. If the event sells tickets, a Manage My Tickets button is available too (see How to Buy an Event Ticket on Cohart for that flow).

5. Click Going and choose your status

Click the Going button. A menu opens with three options:

  • Going — you plan to attend
  • Maybe — you are interested but not confirmed
  • Not Going — you will not attend

Click the option that matches you.

6. Confirm your RSVP

Select Going. Your RSVP is saved immediately and the button keeps the label Going. Your status is stored, so it stays the same if you refresh the page or come back later.

7. Change your RSVP anytime

You can change your status at any time. Click the RSVP button again and pick another option. For example, selecting Maybe changes the button label to Maybe (shown in yellow).

8. Invite others

To invite people to the event, click Invite. The Invite to Event dialog opens. Type to search contact emails, groups, users on Cohart, or add new emails. If you select overlapping contacts or groups, each invitee still receives only one email. Use Preview Email to check the invitation, then click Send. Use Cancel to close the dialog without sending.

Tips

  • Your RSVP choice (Going, Maybe, or Not Going) is saved on your account and stays after you refresh.
  • RSVP is separate from tickets. If an event sells tickets, buy them with the Manage My Tickets button or the Tickets box on the event page.
  • If you are the event organizer (or an admin), you may see organizer tools such as Manage, Check-In, and Ticket Report instead of the RSVP menu.

Troubleshooting

  • Taken to the login page when trying to join → you must be signed in to RSVP → sign in first, then return to the event.
  • Event shows “This event has ended.” → the event is over → RSVP is no longer available for it.
